4 tips to take your outfit from day to night

Being a career woman often means having no time for yourself. Between the chaotic mornings at home and the late nights at the office, there’s little time to even consider going out on dates or for a night with the girls. We challenge you to give yourself a break and go have fun at least one night this week – we promise we’ll do the same! We know the saying about all work and no play is true… And to make it a tad easier for you to take this step, we have a few tips that will help you transform your work outfit into one that’s ready to party:

From day to night

Shirt | Necklace | Earrings | Ring | Shoes | Clutch

1. There are usually three office uniforms for women: a simple dress, a shirt with a skirt, or a shirt with pants. Each one is usually paired with a blazer on top, to obtain a more formal look. Well, since this is your night off, lose the blazer! Whatever you have underneath will look more relaxed and can be used as a canvas for accessory play. Which brings us to our second tip:

2. Wear statement jewellery. This is the easiest way to make an outfit look different: we’re thinking necklaces, earrings, cocktail rings, the whole set. This is the perfect time to take out pieces you haven’t worn in ages, or those you never found an occasion for. Even the saddest plain white shirt is revived with a sparkly necklace, and a pair of pretty earrings will make your eyes pop even if you’re tired.

3. Next, change your flats for a pair of heels. But don’t fall into the trap of pretty stilettos that you’ll want to throw out halfway through the evening. Pick comfortable shoes, with mid heels – you look taller, but you can still dance or stand as much as you like. If they have a bit of animal print, they’re even hotter!

4. A big bag is a burden when all you want is freedom of movement. So come prepared for your big night and bring a clutch with you to work. You can easily fit it in your satchel! When it’s time to go out, just take your essentials – keys, phone, wallet, lipstick – and leave the rest behind. They’ll be there the next morning.
